Description
The Fusion power cable is similar to our Eclipse Reference cable but with multiple thinner conductors. The cable has a substantial 15mm outer diameter finished in a red silicon high-grade outer sheath that has superior self-damping. It has the same noise reduction design as the Eclipse, while being more flexible and easier to handle than the thicker Eclipse cable, but is still heavier and thicker than its competitors. It is terminated with EGM’s best 3rd generation Silver plated Copper pins within thickly moulded, vibration resistant barrel ends.
How does it Sound?
In many ways, the Fusion sounds like a “lite” version of the Eclipse cable. It is extremely well balanced, with a very pleasant fullness to the tone and a touch on the warm side rather than sounding cold and sterile. It doesn’t have quite the same level of detail and openness that is available on the flagship Eclipse but it’s easily better than the rest of the range, and with punchy dynamics and bass slam. It isn’t bass prominent, but if there is bass in the track that you are listening to, the Fusion won’t fail to deliver plenty of energy and deep bass extension. This cable would likely suit systems that are lacking bass energy and that sound thin and bright. This is a smooth and easy listening power cable that seems to remove some of the congestion in the lower mids and upper bass, that some lesser cables have, giving male vocals and bass guitar better definition and making it easier to listen to.
This new cable has a wider, deeper and more detailed sonic image than the Purple Spectra cable. It also controls treble sibilance and harshness much better. The midrange is dense and vocals hang in space more realistically. It’s a very good sounding cable, better than our previous Emerald flagship and a close second prize behind the Eclipse Reference cable.

Cable Construction
1. Conductors: Nine (9) conductors comprising Three (3) Active × 1 mm², Three (3) Neutral × 1 mm², and Three (3) Earth × 2.5 mm² extra-fine stranded Class 5 annealed Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC 99.9%) conductors, manufactured with ASTM B298 Class B silver plating (minimum 2.5% conductivity increase equivalent). The silver-plated conductors provide excellent conductivity, enhanced corrosion resistance, and improved high-frequency current transfer associated with the skin effect, while maintaining exceptional flexibility, low resistance, and long-term reliability.
2. Insulation: Each conductor is insulated with Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP), offering one of the audio industry's lowest dielectric constants and dielectric losses. FEP provides outstanding electrical performance, excellent thermal stability, high insulation resistance, and exceptional resistance to moisture, chemicals, and ageing. Operating temperature range: -10°C to +200°C.
3. Dielectric Filler: A precision Polyethylene (PE) dielectric rope filler is positioned within the cable core to maintain conductor geometry, improve mechanical stability, preserve the cable's circular profile, and minimise conductor movement and vibration. The low-dielectric PE material also helps reduce dielectric interaction between conductors, contributing to consistent electrical performance.
4. Vibration Damping Layer: A high-flexibility RS-150 silicone elastomer damping layer is applied over the insulated conductors to provide an additional level of mechanical isolation before the shielding system. The silicone elastomer helps absorb and dissipate mechanical vibration, reduces conductor movement within the cable during handling and installation, and provides an additional protective layer for the internal cable construction.
5. Shielding: A 100% coverage aluminium/Mylar foil shield provides highly effective suppression of high-frequency electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI), helping to minimise external electrical noise and maintain consistent system performance.
6. Screening Drain: A Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC 99.9%) braided shield with a minimum 85% braid coverage is applied over the foil shield, providing effective low-frequency electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding, a low-impedance earth path, enhanced mechanical durability, and broad-spectrum EMI/RFI protection.
7. Outer Sheath: A premium RS-150 high-flexibility silicone elastomer outer sheath, rated to 180°C, provides exceptional flexibility together with outstanding resistance to UV exposure, ozone, moisture, oils, acids, and a wide range of industrial chemicals. The outer sheath also offers excellent vibration-damping characteristics, helping to protect the internal cable construction from mechanical stress and impact. The sheath is halogen-free, flame retardant, and engineered for long-term performance in demanding industrial and high-end audio applications.

Why should I use EGM audio grade power cables?
Many people have asked us what the difference between EGM Audio cables and the thin moulded Chinese is made cable included in the box. It’s the sound quality. Technically both do the job, but only a specialised audio cable allows your audio device to sound the way it was meant to. When you stop to compare the quality of the conductors, the wire diameter and extensive use of electromagnetic and radiofrequency shielding, the 3rd generation cable ends, it’s little wonder that EGM audio grade power cables are superior sounding by a large margin. There is a lot of unseen technology incorporated into the finished cable that is not readily apparent. EGM has spent over 7 years of R&D in their new cable range, with extensive listening tests and prototyping so that you can enjoy world-class products at a reasonable price.
EGM is proud that every cable they manufacture uses the same standard of workmanship, the same high grade of materials, including the same protective heat-shrink covers on both ends of the wires and is hand made by a qualified electrician in Australia. Every cable is individually tested for electrical safety. What is Cable Burn-in?
All cables and especially the highly resolving audio grade cables require a little time to settle and start performing at their optimum. There are many opinions as to why this well-known phenomenon happens, but we won't bore you with it. Although they can often sound good immediately, we recommend that you allow EGM cables at least 48 hrs of constant use before doing any critical listening. This initial period will make the largest difference to the sound quality. For the next week or two the cable will continue to improve, but in smaller increments. Often thicker cables with multiple cores take longer than thinner ones.
A fully burned-in cable will sound smoother and more musical. It will also have better timing, imaging, treble detail, bass power and control as well as being less fatiguing to listen to.
